We are currently inviting applications for the following vacancy in the Faculty of Life Sciences, Kleve Campus, to be filled by 1st of March 2019:

Research Associate (m/f) in for a research project on the influence of cover crops on soil organic matter and nitrogen dynamics, as well as soil structure

German TV-L pay scale level EG13, fixed-term contract for 3 years (prospective duration, subject to project approval) according to § 2 Abs.2 (WissZeitVG), part-time with 50 % of the average weekly hours of the full-time equivalent

Your tasks:

− Planning, organising and conducting field-, greenhouse and lab experiments on the influence of cover crops and cover crop mixtures on soil organic matter and nitrogen dynamics, as well as soil structure

− Analysis of soil and plant samples

− Soil microbiological analyses

− Statistical analyses of the results

− Documentation, presentation and publication of results in scientific journals and conferences, as well as field days and journals of practical relevance

− The project provides the opportunity to acquire a PhD

Your profile:

− You have a scientific degree (M.Sc.) in biology, agriculture or environmental sciences or comparable training

− You have good knowledge in the field of soil and plant analyses

− You are highly organised, motivated and have a goal-oriented approach to your work

− You are prepared for interdisciplinary collaboration and can work well in a team

− You are proficient in written and spoken English and German

− You have a good computer aptitude with classic text and data processing software

− You have good statistical knowledge
